The new virtual collection of the Croatian Museum of Medicine and Pharmacy on the portal DiZbi HAZU – Memorial collection of Sergije Dogan
Sergije Dogan, Croatian neuropsychiatrist (Šibenik, June 21, 1916 – Počitelj, April 17, 1979). Having completed his studies in medicine and several semesters of psychology in Zagreb in 1940, from 1941 until the end of his life he worked at the Clinic for Nervous and Mental Diseases in Zagreb (from 1971 the Clinic for Neurology), 1967-1979. her superior. The founder of Croatian clinical neurophysiology, the first to introduce electroencephalography as a regular diagnostic method and organized the production of the first domestic electroencephalographs. He was a full professor at the Zagreb School of Medicine and a member of Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts (YASA; today Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, CASA); from 1958 to 1960 he was the president of the Croatian Medical Association. Sergije Dogan’s memorial materials are preserved in the Croatian Museum of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Division for the History of Medical Sciences at CASA.
This virtual collection contains 32 digitized diplomas and charters of Sergije Dogan and two diplomas of Kate Dogan-Librenjak, which were included in the fund of the Croatian Museum of Medicine and Pharmacy, CASA, thanks to the donation of their daughter Prof. Branka Marinović, MD, PhD.
Sergije Dogan’s memorial material testifies to his clinical, scientific and teaching achievements and to his contribution to the work of the School of Medicine of the University of Zagreb, the Croatian Medical Association and the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts (today Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts).
