In 1919, it changed its name to the Association of Doctors of Croatia, Slavonia and Medjumurje. In 1923, the question of changing the name to the Croatian Medical Society arose, and in 1939 the name was changed to the Croatian Medical Association. The ADC Academy was founded in 1971, and then begun awarding of diplomas to honorary members, diplomas and commemorative plaques Ladislav Rakovac and Pavao Ćulumović for outstanding health work. The name Croatian Medical Association was returned on February 26, 1991, and Liječničke novine was relaunched. In the wing of the Croatian Medical Association, the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences was founded in 1961, as well as the Commission for scientific and research work of the Main Board of the CMA.
