Vladimir Dugački

Vladimir Dugački, Croatian ophthalmologist and historian of medicine (Zagreb, February 26, 1939 – Zagreb, March 11, 2014). After graduating from the School of Medicine in Zagreb in 1964, he worked as a doctor at the Zagreb Emergency Station and as an expert associate at the Institute for the History of Natural, Mathematical and Medical Sciences of the then JAZU (today Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts). From 1971 until his retirement in 2004, he worked at the Clinic for Ophthalmology of the Clinical Hospital Center in Zagreb. He made significant contributions to research into the history of medicine, especially the history of ophthalmology, and in the field of medical encyclopedics and lexicography. He was the president of the Croatian Society for the History of Medicine and the Croatian Society for Medical Terminology.
