World Glaucoma Day is celebrated on March 12 at the initiative of the World Glaucoma Organization and the World Organization of Glaucoma Patients, with the aim of raising people’s awareness of the disease as much as possible. According to the Institute of Public Health “Dr. Andrija Štampar ”, every other Croat has vision problems. As many as 65 million people worldwide suffer from glaucoma, and 4.5 million have gone blind due to the disease.
