Viktor Boić
Viktor Boić, Croatian internist and musician (Zagreb, 8th October 1896 – Zagreb, 9th January 1983). He studied medicine in Innsbruck, Vienna and Prague (1922). From 1922 to 1937 he worked as an assistant at the Internal Clinic in Zagreb, where he started to deal with blood diseases after being trained abroad and in 1935 founded a hematology laboratory. From 1937 until his retirement in 1962, he was the head of the Internal department of the Foundation Hospital of St. Spirit in Zagreb.
For years he was a cello player of the Social orchestra and a member of the Directorate of the Croatian music institute. He founded several chamber music ensembles, he was responsible for establishing the choir of the Zagreb phsytian singers and the Music section of the Croatian medical association.
